BOSTON, MA -- Following a tremendous performance in the 2021 season, the Bunker Hill men's soccer team will open up the 2022 campaign ranked No.5 in the nation according to the NJCAA Preseason National Rankings.
The designation is the highest preseason ranking for the Bulldogs in the program's history.
The Bulldogs finished the 2021 season with a 12-3-1 overall record. BHCC went on to win the 2021 Region XXI Championship and advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament action before finishing the year in the national semi-final. The season included a run that saw BHCC win ten of eleven NJCAA Division III games late in the year, including an Elite 8 win.
Bunker Hill Bulldogs suffered the loss of Region Player of the Year and Scholar All-American Arnaud Abdoun who led the team with 13 regular season goals and a hat-trick in the Elite 8 match. However, the Bulldogs will welcome back three All-Region performers to the roster this season as well as a great recruiting class.
The 2022 schedule has been posted online and the team will open the season on the road against another nationally ranked opponent #9 Suffolk County CC. The season home opener is scheduled against Springfield Tech CC on Thursday, September 15, at 3:30pm.
